Stock Kitchen Doors

Stock kitchen doors are generally standard sized doors and standard cabinet sizes. They are generally more affordable than custom cabinets and they are usually quicker to make. Kitchen cabinets are held by the manufacturer in inventory or the shipped to distributors who then sell them to the homeowners.

Think of a stock kitchen door in the same way as you might a mass produced chair. Because they can be produced in big numbers and at little cost a pricetag that is passed on is much lower than the cost of a kitchen cabinet that is one of a kind.

The quality of stock kitchen doors appears to be rising so much so that it is becoming difficult to determine the difference between a stock kitchen door and a custom kitchen door. Traditionally stock kitchen doors would be classed as the economy model but it’s becoming more difficult to see these doors as lower-priced doors.

Stock cabinets are assembled to prior to purchase. These days the main difference between stock cabinets and semi-stock or custom cabinets is that they aren’t manufactured to the buyer specifications.

You might sometimes he stock kitchen cabinets referred to as ready to assemble or RTA cabinets. You pick them up in flat pack format, take it home and assemble it yourself.

Stock kitchen doors nowadays come in a wide range of some materials, colours, and styles. In the past you might have had very little choice but this is not the case these days.
